However, modern décor isn’t meant to be stark but rather welcomes an infusion of character and your own personal style into the design. One way to accomplish this is through the incorporation of framed art pictures into your décor. Art can add so much to a design space in terms of color, theme, and form. Many associate abstract art prints with modern décors, but in this type of design scheme you’re not limited at all to that particular art style. Here are some great ways to incorporate different art prints into a modern décor.

Purely Modern Design

Pure modern décor strives for an uncluttered look, with an emphasis on functionality and a minimum of excesses. What results are simple designs with easy accessibility and lots of space to move around in. Colors reflect this, relying heavily on a neutral palette with strategically placed splashes of hue here and there. And even in small rooms, a feeling of openness is often achieved through the use of color, fabrics, furniture, and lighting that offer the illusion of space.

In order for framed art pictures to enhance a purely modern design, they must replicate these modern values. The focus here should be on simplicity; you don’t want anything too vibrant or showy. Modern art prints such as Tango in Red or Tango Argentina by Misha Lenn offer clean forms with just a splash of color and can be hung as a series on a bare wall. Another great choice is the geometric simplicity of prints such as Alfred Gockel’s Circle of Love I or Unity by Monica Stewart. Abstract and colorful prints such as Rex Ray’s Acapulco One can even add that splash of color that makes a modern décor really pop.

The Eclectic Approach

The great thing about modern style is the flexibility it offers, resulting in room designs that reflect your personal tastes. Here, you can create a sophisticated eclectic look, mixing and matching modern and traditional pieces and fabrics for a complex, rich style. The key here is to avoid creating a jarring feel in the room. Select pieces that are similar in terms of line and style, and place transitional elements throughout the room to help things flow.

In an eclectic modern décor, a wide range of framed art pictures can be used depending on the style you want to create. Fortunately, there are plenty of modern art prints to choose from.

Just be sure that the lines, forms, and colors in the painting complement the look you’re going for. Many Picasso prints go great with an eclectic décor, reflecting the richness of traditional elements combined with the simple lines and forms that define Picasso’s modern style. Choose from prints such as Blue Nude, c. 1902 or The Dream. Other fine art pictures that would fit well with this design are Diego Rivera prints and those by Sam Toft.
A modern décor can be incorporated in so many different ways into your home. By choosing framed art pictures that enhance the style you’re going for, you can create a unique modern look all your own.

Elizabeth Fenworth

Wall Art Ideas for a Country-Style Kitchen

A country kitchen highlights all the warmth and character this popular gathering place has to offer. One only has to envision family and guests gathered around a large homemade wooden table surrounded by warm colors and homey textures, sharing food, drink, conversation, and laughter. Wall art in a country-style kitchen can serve to amplify this cozy feel, reflecting the styles, themes, and colors already displayed through the room. If you’re looking to design a comfortable and welcoming kitchen décor, here are some great wall art ideas for a country-style kitchen to get you started.

Traditional Country Kitchen Décor

When decorating the kitchen, many want to re-create an echo of simpler times, a place to escape from the harried pace of our modern world. Often these kitchens are filled with distressed woods and tiles, handcrafted furnishings, country antiques, and old-fashioned braided rugs. Country art prints should reflect this nostalgic feel, providing a glimpse into times long past. For example, The Kitchen by Carl Larsson showcases an old farm kitchen scene, complete with little girls wearing pinafores and sunbonnets. Or you could go back further in time with Martina Chardin’s Kitchen Maid, its warm earth tones depicting a young lady hard at work. There are also simpler prints like <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=436986"target="_blank"> Kay Lamb Shannon’s Victorian Kitchen that depict kitchen scenes from earlier eras.

Natural Country Designs

Another approach to the country-style kitchen is a natural country design highlighted by warm colors, an open floor plan, and lots of light. The focus here is on natural fibers and country-inspired wood grains, accented by handcrafted furnishings and pure colors. The framed art pictures you choose for a natural kitchen should capture this organic comfortable look and reflect the warmth and brightness of the design scheme. Consider a print such as <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=114119"target="_blank">Baskets of Vegetables by Michael Davidoff , which captures the essence of a country kitchen experience, with its natural fiber baskets overflowing with freshly picked fruits and flowers, mason jars full of spices, and subtle earth tones. Or go with a still-life series like <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=69282"target="_blank"> Howard Vincent’s Country Kitchen I,<a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=69283"target="_blank">II, and <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=69284"target="_blank">III that showcases kitchenware, produce, and textiles rich with texture and highlighted by the interplay of shadow and light.

Back on the Farm

Many prefer their country kitchen design to have a down-home country feel to it. Often, these types of kitchen décors center around themes such as farm animals or quilts. Walls are painted or wallpapered with warm, rich colors, often with a stenciled border for a creative personal touch. Textiles are added in the form of area rugs or seat cushions to add visual interest and create a cozy feel. Depending on your decorating scheme, you have many wall art options. If roosters are a main focal point, then choose art that reflects this, such as <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=70450"target="_blank">Country Rooster by Peggy Thatch Sibley. Or go with art prints that showcase the bounty of the farm, like <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=663764"target="_blank">Fruit Stand Pears by Jerianne Van Dijk. There are also a variety of country signs and sayings—like <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/ShowSearch.aspx?s=Grace+Pullen"target="_blank">Grace Pullen’s or <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/ShowSearch.aspx?s=jo+moulton"target="_blank">Jo Moulton’sprints—that would fit nicely in this décor style. In general, look for simplicity and warmth in your art prints, going with homey country accents rather than anything that’s going to dominate the room.

Wall art can provide a wonderful finishing touch to any country-style kitchen décor. By finding fine art prints that complement your personal theme and style, you can create a welcoming look that you and your family will long enjoy.

Elizabeth Fenworth

Using Framed Art Pictures to Give Your Home a Summertime Feel

Summertime is a great time to shed all that heavy, dark winter décor and infuse some fresh new colors and lightness into your home. In the hot, grueling days of July and August, you want your home to provide a cool retreat, an escape from those “dog days” of summer. One of the easiest ways to achieve this is with the wall art you select to go with your summertime design. Art prints and other wall décor can really set the tone for summer. Here are some great ideas on how to use Framed Art Pictures to create a light and airy ambiance in your home.

Art for a Beach-Inspired Décor

Nothing says summer like a beach décor, and creating a beach cottage feeling in your home can make you feel like you’re on holiday all summer long. This is easily achieved by swapping out your regular knick-knacks with interesting shells and other ocean-themed items, and adding some light slipcovers to your couch and other living room seating. Then use some Framed Art Pictures featuring beach and ocean themes to round out the look. You might go for a traditional seaside scene such as <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=105669"target="_blank"> Beach Bunch by Lin Seslar, or choose a more breathtaking vista like Diane Romanello’s Summer Moments II. Or you could take a more nostalgic approach and hang an image that reminds of those summer beach jaunts of the past, such as Summer Breeze by Richard Judson Zolan or Summer by Frank Weston Benson. Either way, beach-themed framed art can bring a whole new dimension to your home décor.

Using Art to Bring the Outdoors In

Summer-themed home designs take advantage of all this season has to offer in terms of color, light, and texture, and Framed Art Pictures can help you capture all the sights and smells of the outdoors at this time of year. In this case, look for images suffused with the warmth and brightness of a summer day. Summer Breeze by Alice Dalton Brown is a great example of this, as you can practically feel the warm summer breeze floating in past the curtains. The wonderful light and bright colors captured in The Glory of Summer by Heinz Voss will help brighten up any room. Even something like Monet’s Chrysanthemum, 1897, will bring all the warm summer colors into your living room.

Add a Tropical Flair to Your Home with Wall Art

For a bolder look, introduce the bright colors of the tropics into your home. Bright slipcovers and throw pillows that incorporate floral prints along with a beautiful flower centerpiece can really spruce up the look. Find tropical wall art to complement your color scheme showcasing panoramic vistas or abstract forms. Art that features palm trees and ocean views like Tropical Beach and Summer Love brings the tropical theme into focus. Or go with Ethan Harper’s floral prints Summer I and <a href="http://www.framedartpictures.com/showprint.aspx?pid=199863"target="_blank">Summer II, which can really add simplicity and color to the décor.

By incorporating Framed Art Pictures into your summer décor, you can create a look that provides an escape during those hot summer months. When you decorate your home for summer, you create a colorful, light feel that you can enjoy all summer long.

Elizabeth Fenworth

Integrating Framed Art Pictures into Your Living Room Décor

You're looking at your living room but find it's still missing something. Framed Art Pictures can add just the right PIZZAZ to pull it all together.

There is no limit to the ways Framed Art Pictures can be incorporated into your living room design. A bold, bright print that captures the eye can serve as a focal point, with furnishings, colors, and accents all working to complement that piece. Conversely, a landscape painting can provide interest but otherwise be assimilated into the overall theme and design scheme. When it comes to living room décor, wall art can really perk up a room. Here are some tips and ideas on integrating framed art pictures into your living room décor.

Framed Art Pictures as Focal Points

Many people choose to design their living room around a single print or series of art pieces. In this case, the wall art becomes the focal point of the room, and the rest of the room is designed around it. If you choose to go this route, look for a print that’s bold and compelling, such as Tony Saladino’s Red Cloud II. Here the rich colors and decisive geometric forms of this abstract art print can dominate a room and would work well in a modern, art deco, or contemporary design scheme. Or you might go with a vintage fine art print featuring a brightly colored advertisement from another era, such as Beach Bunch by Lin Seslar. In this case, choose a more neutral color scheme for the room and then throw in coordinating red and yellow accents to pull the whole look together.

If you want your print to serve as a focal point, pay particular attention to size. After all, a 24 x 36 framed print will be much more likely to catch the eye than an 8 x 10 one. If you’ve fallen in love with a smaller print, try finding several others that will complement that piece and hang them in a series on a single bare wall. If you go with a larger print, display it on an otherwise empty wall or in another prominent place, such as above the fireplace or sofa.

Other Ideas for Living Room Art

If you want your wall art to blend in with your living room décor rather than dominate it, then you need to take a close look at your décor first before you purchase your wall art. In this case, the framed art picture should serve to accentuate the design scheme and add to the overall feel and look of the room. If your living room is decorated in country-style, then go with a simple but colorful print, such as Jo Moulton’s Red Cupboard. Or for a more traditional décor theme, choose a classic landscape like Monet’s Chemin Dans Les Bles A Pourville.

A great wall art option that lends an elegant yet subtle feel to a variety of design schemes is black & white photography. For instance, Harold Silverman’s Black and White Morning, with its black silhouetted trees and barren landscape, can add interest and balance to a rustic décor. On the other hand, if your living room reflects an Old World style, accenting the theme with sepia celestial charts and maps will round out the look.

Whether you want your art to dominate or accent your décor, framed art pictures add interest and depth to any design scheme. Consider your approach before you choose wall art for your living room, as this will help you create a cohesive look that you can enjoy for years to come.

Elizabeth Fenworth

Using Framed Art Prints in Your Bathroom Decor

The bathroom was once the place where we "took care of our business". But the size and meaning of the bathroom has changed since the old days. It’s now a place of sanctuary where one can soak troubles away after a long and sometimes frustrating day at work. In some homes, it has become a large, luxurious and sometimes romantic escape. These changes command our attention as to how we decorate this retreat of the mind and body.

Framedartpictures.com provides many bathroom decorating approaches to choose from, including country style, contemporary, and vintage. Incorporating framed art prints into your bathroom decor can help pull your theme together, lending interest and depth to the overall look. Whatever decorating style you go with, here are some great tips for using framed art prints in your bathroom decor.

Country-Style Bathroom Art

Country-style decor is a wonderful way to bring a sense of simplicity and coziness into your home. For the bathroom, it’s no different because with a country decor you can create a look that’s warm and relaxing, and even a little bit rustic. Adding country-style bathroom fixtures, wooden cabinets, and maybe even a pine armoire for extra storage, all help evoke that welcoming feeling. To round out the look, consider a print such as Grace Pullen’s Bath. The rich greens and warm reds and yellows lend a cozy feel, while the old-fashioned tub reminds of simpler times. The added effect of worn edges and faded paint surrounding the image really add to that rustic impression. Accentuate the print with complementary accents such as baskets, candles, and glass canning jars scattered throughout the room.

Contemporary Bathroom Art

Framed art prints can really complement a contemporary bathroom decor. Contemporary design takes full advantage of small narrow spaces, gracing them with sleek lines and subdued color—and thus is perfect for the bathroom. What results is an elegant, subtle look. Hanging a series of contemporary prints on a single blank wall—such as a sampling from Wild Apple Studios’ Bathroom Bubbles series—can help to define this decor style. The simple colors and geometric forms in these prints set against a bare wall help underscore the importance of line, pulling together the entire look.

Vintage Bathroom Art

Often when remodeling a bathroom, homeowners strive to recapture the original feel of the home. By revisiting vintage fixtures and old-fashioned design styles, they are able to re-create that classic look. If a vintage style is what you’re after, choose framed art that portrays that old-time feel. A perfect choice for this design style is Pears Soap I, a reproduction of an old advertisement from a different period. Or go with an image that showcases the way things used to be, such as the Saturday Night by Jim Daly, featuring a little boy washing himself in an old washtub, a relic of years gone by. The muted colors and nostalgic feel of both these prints and other vintage images really transport the room back to simpler times.

When properly executed, bathroom decor can transform the room from merely functional to fabulous. By incorporating framed art prints into the decorating style, you can round out the look, adding interest and depth to the overall design scheme.

Elizabeth Fenworth

Press Release - Framed Art Pictures (www.framedartpictures.com)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Contact: Framed Art Pictures

334-460-9686

framedartpictures@gmail.com

www.framedartpictures.com

When taking on the project of decorating or redecorating your home, your goals will probably include making your space more presentable while keeping the cost within your given budget. Art on the walls can help pull a whole room together, accenting certain color schemes, underscoring a room's particular décor style, or providing a focal point for the entire look. People have varying ideas on what constitutes fine art as prints in this category run the gamut from post-Impressionistic to Asian to modern or abstract. Here are some ideas on how to find the best fine art prints to fit your home or office décor.

The Traditional Approach

If you're trying to achieve a more traditional or formal look in your home or office, easily recognizable fine art prints done by known masters make the perfect choice. A classic post-impressionism print such as Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night" (c. 1889) can add rich hues and therefore interest to a neutral décor, and the image's vibrancy and inherent movement render it a dynamic focal point for a room. Hang it by itself on a large neutral wall and then add other accents to the décor that pick up on the lush blues, yellows, and greens. Throw pillows, lamps, and other accessories make great additions to this color theme.

Asian-Inspired Looks

A fine art print can lend a fabulous finishing touch to a tranquil, Japanese-inspired décor. Japanese artist Katsushiki Hokusai's famous wood block print "The Great Wave off Kanagama" (c. 1830) adds interest to a natural minimalist setting without overpowering that calming ambiance. Colors are neutral enough to fit into this type of Zen-like décor, yet the juxtaposition of the powerful sea against the tranquil backdrop of Mount Fuji make this a powerful piece indeed that will add interest to any room.

Modern Décor

A home or office decorated in a contemporary style such as art deco or eclectic can really benefit from an abstract art print. The bold, bright colors, lines, and forms found in many of these prints add an ideal finishing touch to a room already replete with energy and appeal. Wassily Kandinsky's "Farbstudie Quadrate" (c. 1913) is one of many great options. Its dynamic geometric forms and colors can help pull together diverse elements in the room. Accent colors can be complementary or contrasting depending on whether your goal is to ramp things up or calm things down-as in this day and age of décor, practically anything goes. Try to find a large print suitable for hanging by itself on a large open wall.

Wall décor is an essential component in the overall cohesiveness of a room. When deciding on fine art prints, you first need to decide what decorating style you are ultimately going for. Fortunately, the world of fine art is vast and you should be able to find the perfect print to meet you decorating needs, whatever they might be.

Elizabeth Fenworth

It’s time to imagine yourself slipping into that sexy number, sweating to the beat and steaming up the dance floor.
Dancing With The Stars is back!
